I offer experienced personal training services for all abilities and fitness levels. I have been working in the industry since 1992 and have a Master's of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. I will come to your home or office and instruct and supervise an exercise plan built around your fitness goals and needs. You may or may not have any exercise equipment available. I can bring some small lightweight tools (small dumbbells, rubber tubes, etc.) that get the job done. I can help you decide what equipment you may want to buy in the future. There are, also, a lot of exercises that can be done with bodyweight alone.
This is what most people are looking for, to get healthy and live a longer enjoyable life. This takes at least 4 days per week of 30 minutes of some kind of cardio exercise (walking, jogging, bike riding, etc.) and at least 2 days of resistance training. I will advise you on how much and how hard you should work doing cardio exercise. This is activity that you should get in the habit of doing by yourself or with friends. I will instruct and supervise a resistance training program that will develope strength and flexibility to help with your daily activities and improve your health.
If you are an athlete looking for that added edge, I can test you against norms for most abilities in most sports. I can also design a strength and conditioning program for your particular sport and position. I can also answer questions concerning your strength and conditioning program from your coach.
For runners, cyclists, triathletes, and other endurance athletes, I can measure blood lactate. Lactate testing is a good way to fine tune your workout zones and monitor fitness. The test is a series of 2 - 4 submax exertions followed by a max effort. The submax efforts can determine your lactate threshhold and the max effort will determine the amount of high intensity training you can withstand. This is an oversimplified explanation, but you get the idea. As an endurance athlete you want to compete at the highest steady state effort possible, but if you train at that level too much you risk overtraining and burnout before the end of the season.
